Join this one-of-a-kind trip Backpacking Catalina Island. Group campsites and limited express tickets have been reserved. Participants need to bring all needed hiking and campling gear, food, and be physically healthy and able to hike 10+ miles carrying their gear.

Trip Itinerary

Friday October 23rd take the Catalina Express to Two Harbors departing at 8:45 am from San Pedro
          Enjoy the remainder of the day at Two Harbors, take an optional hike to the viewpoint
          Have dinner at the restaurant in Two Harbors
          Spend the night at the Two Harbors Campsite
Saturday October 24th, depart Two Harbors via the Trans Catalina Trail to Little Harbor (approximately 5 miles)
          Spend the rest of day and night at Little Harbor
Sunday October 25th pack up and hike back to Two Harbors to catch the 11:45am ferry back to San Pedro

Resources

  1. There is a gear haul service available on the island if you do not have backpacking equipment or would rather not carry campling gear. 
 
 
 
 
      2. Catalina Island Co. offeres gear haul service from Two Harbors to Little Harbor.  They charge $21.00 per item, one-way, and $42.00 per item round-trip.  They do have a 50 lb.                      weight limit per item.  Please stop by the Two Harbors Visitor Service Center, and they will be able to arrange the gear haul service for you or contact them directly at                                                  visitorservices@scico.com or (310) 510-4205 
 

 

Two Harbors Campground - is built onto a hillside, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and is a 1/2 of a mile walk from the charming village of Two Harbors. The rustic village of Two Harbors, offers a general store, dive shop, and restaurant. 
 

The campgroud includes - Chemical Toilets, Cold-Water, Outdoor Shower, Critter Box, Fire Pit, Picnic Table, Potable Water, Shade Structure, and Trash Disposal

 
 
 
 
Little Harbor Campground
Rated "One of the Best Campgrounds in the West" by Sunset Magazine, Little Harbor is a sandy, beachfront campground with lots of opportunities for recreation. Located about 5.5 miles east of Two Harbors and 19 miles from Avalon along the Trans Catalina Trail, Little Harbor is the only campground on Catalina's remote “backside." Most travel by foot along the Trans Catalina Trail as there are limited options of transportation based out of Avalon. Gear haul service and grocery delivery are offered if arriving in Two Harbors.
