Dome Port for Olympus FCON-T02 Kit with Fisheye Lens for Olympus TG-6

Part# 64362

This kit includes the Dome Port and Olympus FCON-T02 Lens for the Olympus Tough TG-6 camera and Ikelite Housing.

The Olympus Tough TG-series cameras already shoot out of this world super macro, but haven't really been ideal for ultra wide angle in the past. This special dome port is designed for use with the Olympus Tough TG-6 with the special Olympus FCON-T02 Fisheye Converter Lens and Adapter attached.

Unique Perspective

The Circular Fisheye Converter provides a circular fisheye perspective when the camera is set to 24mm, and diagonal fisheye capabilities when the camera is zoomed. The resulting image quality is spectacular- comparable to a Canon or Nikon 8-15mm Fisheye lens on a full frame DSLR body. It's the perfect combination for ultra wide angle, close focus wide angle, and over-under underwater photography.

The optical grade acrylic dome provides super sharp and bright imaging while being lightweight for handling and travel. This combination is lighter, sharper, and wider than any external wide angle lens option for the Olympus TG-6.

Macro Capabilities

The good news is that you aren't limited to a fisheye or ultra wide-angle perspective. The camera may be zoomed while the lens is attached and can focus up to a 30mm macro equivalent underwater.

Ease of Use

The dome port replaces the standard flat port on the housing. Simply unthread the standard flat port and thread in the dome port. We recommend a rubber strap wrench commonly available at your local hardware store or as product # 0945.01 (not included). The included dome shade reduces reflections, protects the dome, and allows you to set the housing down on its face for easy assembly and disassembly.

This dome port cannot be removed and replaced underwater. The dome port may be used with or without lens attached. Without the lens attached some reflections may be present when shooting towards a bright light source (like the sun).

Compatability

This port is not compatible with the Olympus FCON-T01 lens.

DS160 II 160Ws TTL Underwater Strobe

Part# 40160US

The DS160 underwater strobe is the long-standing choice of professionals who need a strobe that can be relied on to perform over and over. No strobe on the market today comes close to the number of hours of factory and field testing as our DS160-series, including under the Antarctic ice.

Light Quality

Our proprietary circular flashtube design and soft white powder coated reflector produce a quality of light that is widely accepted as the perfect choice for professional wide angle underwater photography.

A custom formulated ABS-PC blend make the strobe fundamentally corrosion-proof and over 1/2 lb (237 g) lighter than aluminum-body strobes.

The DS160 beam is designed for proper spread and color temperature without adding a light-reducing diffuser. The optional Dome Diffuser # 4069.2 is available to extend the spread of the light with only a half-stop reduction of apparent brightness.

Ergonomics

Change settings quickly without taking your eyes off the subject. Life moves quickly underwater and you need to be able to react instantly when your lighting needs change. Shooters who use manual strobe exposure settings prefer our large, click-stop dial controls which provide intuitive, tactical feedback of exposure setting.

The robust dial controls are now even larger and taller for comfortable use with even the thickest gloves. A slide lock prevents the strobe from accidentally being turned on when not in use.

High-Performance Power

Your strobe is only as powerful as the batteries that drive it. Commercially available batteries do not have the low internal impedance required for truly fast recycle times. Even the best rechargeable AA batteries are sluggish in high-powered strobes and only get slower and weaker as their charge drains.

Our custom rechargeable cells power high frame rate firing from the first shot to the last. These premium quality industrial grade NiMH cells have been proven to out perform alkaline and lithium cells in real world underwater conditions, including the temperature fluctuations and storage conditions of the photographer diver. While 5 years is the average lifespan of a rechargeable pack, we routinely talk to shooters who are happily using 10-15 year old NiMH battery packs.

The battery pack attaches quickly and easily with a unique toggle lock that prevents accidental floods. You don't even need to lubricate the o-ring. The strobe front is compatible with older NiMH Battery Packs # 4066.5 or the DS230 Strobe Battery Pack # 40066BK.

A Name To Trust

Ikelite was the first to introduce these underwater strobe technologies which are considered standard today: aiming lights, interchangeable cords, removable battery packs, smart charging, battery power indicators, wireless TTL slave sensors, built-in video lights, and TTL communication with digital cameras.

We have the longest track record in the design and manufacture of professional strobe lighting for underwater use. We offer the only underwater strobes designed and manufactured in the USA and distributed worldwide to over 95 countries.

DS230 213Ws Underwater TTL Strobe with Modeling Light

Part# 40230US

Some situations underwater require as much light as you can get. The DS230 packs more flash capacitance to cut through the water and deliver sharper, more colorful, professional looking wide angle images. The DS230 has the power you need whether you're shooting in a pool studio or out in the open water.

Light Quality

Entry-level strobes dump raw light from a standard, straight flashtube to maximize guide number (brightness). These strobes require light diffusers and filters to soften and warm light and smooth out the sharp edges and banding effects. Most add-on modifiers dramatically cut light output and reduce the effective power of the strobe.

Lighting needs for underwater photography differ greatly compared to surface photography, so an off-the-shelf flashtube and reflector won't do. We have spent decades revising and perfecting our circular xenon flashtube for a perfectly gradated beam pattern and warm color temperature. A 5000K color temperature balances with available light underwater to provide richer coloring and deeper blue water backgrounds when shooting wide angle. Models' skin tones will look more natural and reds and oranges will pop with more vibrant color.

For times when an even wider angle of coverage is desired, the optional Dome Diffuser # 4069.2 is available to extend the spread of the light with only a half-stop reduction of apparent brightness.

Some of the best mirrorless and compact digital cameras today are equally strong in both still and video imaging, requiring more than ever from a lighting system. At the same time, airline restrictions are tight and it can be a lot of work just to get your gear to the site. The DS230 incorporates a powerful, 2500 lumen wide beam COB LED light array allowing you to effortlessly switch between still and video.

The video light doubles as an aiming light and automatically turns off and back on each time you take a photo. In video mode light output is controlled in low, medium, and high power settings plus an SOS mode to signal others in emergency situations.

A custom formulated ABS-PC blend make the strobe fundamentally corrosion-proof and over 1/2 lb (237 g) lighter than aluminum-body strobes.

Ergonomics

Change your strobe settings without taking your eyes off the subject.

A Strobe For Life

From the invention of detachable underwater sync cords to the development of groundbreaking digital TTL electronics, Ikelite has remained committed to producing strobe systems that withstand the test of time.

Ike's theory was "smart housing, dumb strobe," resulting in the revolutionary concept of modular TTL intelligence. Simply connect the correct triggering device(s) and the DS230 will give fast and accurate output every time. This provides the ultimate versatility across camera systems, improves reliability, and insures against obsolescence as cameras with new TTL protocols are released on the market each year.

We have the longest track record in the design and manufacture of professional strobe lighting for underwater use. We offer the only underwater strobes designed and manufactured in the USA and distributed worldwide to over 95 countries.

DS51 II 50Ws TTL Underwater Strobe

Part# 40051

If size and weight are your primary deciding factors, the DS51 II is for you. The DS51 II is one of the smallest and lightest strobes in its class weighing in at less than one pound (443g) per strobe. The compact size makes it simple to position the strobe for macro, super macro, and close focus wide angle.

Ergonomics

You won't need a pair of tweezers to set the DS51 strobe. The strobe power/exposure mode switch is prominent on the rear of the strobe with a bright white detail makes it easy to see where it's pointing.

When used in TTL mode together with a compatible TTL converter, your camera will meter the scene and adjust strobe power automatically.

True TTL Exposure

TTL flash exposure takes advantage of your camera's sophisticated light metering system to automatically adjust flash output. In TTL flash mode the camera triggers a pre-flash - before the image is captured - and uses information it receives back to adjust output in time for the photo. Our line of proprietary TTL converters translates this signal for correct flash exposure underwater with Ikelite DS strobes. Simply leave the strobe in the TTL setting and focus on composition and camera exposure settings.

The advantages of TTL metering are far greater than simply variable flash output. TTL improves recycle time, enables burst shooting, and saves battery life of both your camera and your strobe. TTL is critical when shooting fast-moving subjects both large and small.

Mix and Match

Most shooters choose a one or two DS51 II strobes for macro and dual DS51 II strobes for wide angle. Combining the DS51 with brighter strobes like the DS160 II, DS162, or DS230, can also add depth and contrast to your images. Attach the less powerful strobe as a secondary when mixing strobes of different intensity.

The DS51 II supports a wide variety of triggering methods to fit virtually any application in, out of, and around the water.

Trigger the DS51 II directly from your camera using either an electrical sync cord with ICS-5 plug or by adding an optional fiber optic converter. The DS51 II supports exposure communication with most popular camera models using our line of high-accuracy TTL converters.

Remote triggering is supported by both optional extension cords and/or optical slave converter. Position your strobes at a distance from your camera for a variety of creative lighting set-ups including cave lighting, off-camera wreck lighting, and pool studio photography.

When using an optical slave or fiber optic trigger, each strobe needs its own triggering device. When using a DS Link TTL Converter, connect two strobes using a dual Y-shaped sync cord.

If you're unsure which connection is right for you, reach out to us for the right advice. We'll need to know the make and model of camera and housing you're shooting along with your shooting location and subject matter.

High Sensitivity Optical Slave Converter for Remote Triggering of DS Strobes

Part# 4405

The High Sensitivity Optical Slave Converter is perfect for use in environments with high ambient light or large distances between your remote strobe and the primary flash.

This is a non-learning, sensor which requires the camera to be in manual flash mode. This Converter will not work with a preflash. The Optical Slave Converter supports manual exposure modes as set on the attached DS strobe. TTL exposure mode is not supported.

If your primary purpose is to trigger a strobe fiber optically by a compact digital camera's flash, we recommend the Fiber Optic Converter # 4401.1 or RC1 Olympus & Panasonic TTL Receiver # 4412 instead.

High-Speed Shooting

If you're shooting a DSLR or mirrorless camera with Nauticam fiber optic converter and want to shoot at high frame rates (4 FPS or faster), then this Converter is the right option for you. The included fiber optic port allows the attachment of Ikelite, SEA&SEA, Olympus, and certain Nauticam fiber optic cables.

Attatchment and Use

The Converter simply attaches to the strobe's electrical bulkhead in place of a sync cord connector. The enlarged slave window provides approximately 90 degrees field of view for remote triggering.

An optional Extension Cord # 45023 (3 ft / 1 m) or # 45025 (15 ft / 5 m) may be added for more flexible positioning of the sensor window. This set-up is perfect for creative backlighting in wrecks, caves, and pool use. It can also be used above water for studio photography work.

An individual Converter is needed for each strobe. Use of multiple strobes requires one Converter per strobe. The Converter supports DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160 and DS161 strobes.

This product replaces the Optical Slave Converter # 4403.
